Throttle Lab privacy policy

Throttle Lab measures how your phone's processor throttles under sustained load. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: Throttle Lab doesn't collect, share or sell personal data. It has no accounts, ads or analytics, no internet access, and doesn't ask for any permissions.

What the app stores

Throttle Lab saves your test results and settings in its private storage on your phone. Results include when each test ran, your phone's model and Android version, how fast its processor worked, and battery and thermal readings: battery level, temperature, voltage and current, charging and power saver state, thermal status and CPU frequency. Settings are your choice of units, theme and haptic feedback. We never receive any of it.

Android backup

If backup to your Google account is on in your phone's settings, Android can copy these results and settings to your Google account and restore them on a new phone. Android does this, not Throttle Lab, and we can't access your backup. On Android 9 and later the backup is end-to-end encrypted when your phone has a screen lock. Android's phone-to-phone transfer can also copy the same data to a new phone. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.

Crash reports

If your phone shares usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google Play may show us reports about crashes and freezes (Android vitals). We use them only to fix problems.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Throttle Lab, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes everything it saved on your phone. Any copy in your Android backup is managed from your Google account.

Children

Throttle Lab isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear in the app and at qatnipgames.com/privacy/throttle-lab, with a new date.
